“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
The things which are seen were made by the things which are not seen. The invisible- the Voice of The Lord, The Word of God made the visible- the earth.
What a man makes he controls so that he can make or “re-make it”. According to the Scriptures, we are the clay and God is the Potter. When we get marred in His hands, He doesn’t cast us off into the trash can, He remoulds us again until we become better persons. He has control over our lifes because He made us and can orchestrate the bearings of our path as He deems fit.
Nevertheless, the Lord has also given us a free will, to make our own choices and to take responsibility for their consequences. Joshua in his Book said to the Israelites, “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve…” (Joshua 24:15) The Lord may show us His path but the choice to follow or refuse is entirely ours.
Moreover, if we agree that through His Word God made our lifes, it’s then correct to say that the Spiritual makes/controls the physical. The spiritual principles of life- the mind, the soul, faith, love, hope, godliness, prayer, God shapes and determines the outcome, the result, the physical. These elders whose names were written on the Great Hall of Faith understood this principle and therefore made it a matter of priority to prevail in the Spiritual.
Jacob wrestled with the angel and prevailed; Jabez prayed his life around; Hannah prayed forth a son; Abraham secured God’s promise, also saved his nephew’s life twice; Isaac prayed open his wife’s womb; Paul received strength for the thorn in his flesh; Silas and Paul praised God; Moses prayed for the Israelites; David discovered the secret of God’s heart; etc etc these men prevailed and their destinies, their physical lifes where changed because they understood one thing- the Spiritual makes and shapes the physical.
This is not the time to cry, complain, blame others of your misfortune or whine. This is the time to stand up, go on your knees and determine under God how your future will turn out. Great leaders of tomorrow and men who changed history were not perfect men, they failed countless times, but they stoop up, believed in themselves and more importantly had faith in God and refused to be put down.
These men of faith decided to “give themselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word”, to praise, to faith, to hope and to love for the visible were not made by the visible but “by the things which do not appear” (the Invisible).
