A Poem on War

From the clarion call atop the hill
To the silent signals behind enemy lines
From the booming explosives at the front line
To the stealth movements on mine-filled lands
From the joyful outbursts from the victor’s kin
To the tearful sobs from the casualty’s kith
The costs of war are tragically disastrous
The casualties of war are never-ending
The destructions at war- most times avoidable
The reasons for war- sometimes meaningless

Daily Prompt: Meaningless
