Love Poured Forth

Light a spark in her heart
Watch her love lit up
Hold her heart like an egg
Watch her guard yours
With her life

Her love is like a butterfly
That makes special bonds,
With the petals that receive her
Tenderly and warmly;
She’s not desperate for love;

She is willing to share hers,
She has so much to give
So much more than you know

Only he who gives his heart
Only he who pours out his best
Can enjoy the best of her

Until Summer’s Glow

let me go
hide not my valise
winter’s chill
a timely signal.

travel through time
find our keepsakes,
wear my smiles
as love’s true necklace,

warm fragrance,
your cheeks
like sweet lavender
they shall steer me home,
when summer’s glow
breaks forth from above.

If Love Had A Formula

What is love? How do we define love?
Is it just an emotional outburst?
Or a lifelong commitment?
What are the limits, the boundaries of love?
If love had a formula, what would it be?

Love is seeing the best in yourself
Love is seeing the beauty in others
Love is subjective
Everyone is lovable

Love is simple and complicated
Love is intriguing and intricate
Love is neither gullible nor suspicious
Love is not a quitter

Love is finding what makes someone happy
And doing just that
Love celebrates our strengths
Love ignites our passions
Love makes us human and humane

There is perfect rest, total trust and
True companionship in love
For true love, has no fear in it

Love believes, hopes and endures
Love is our cheerleader

If only love was straightforward,
If only love had a formula,
Fortunately so, there is no formula
For love is the secret formula for love

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
So is love

There is faith, there is hope, there is love
There is beauty, excellence, power
But love is the best of all
And love conquers all

Valentine Haiku – God’s Love #2

Flashbacks stunned his five senses-
Sin ravaged parched souls;
Love’s rescue- a quenching spring.

#Celebrating the wonderful love of God

Past memories amazed and lectured his full being, memories of his old life- how sin took advantage of his longings and ravaged his soul mercilessly. But through God’s Love, he was rescued; his thirst was quenched with springs of Living water.

See How Far We’ve Come

See how far we’ve come,
You were my first crush,
I was your first love.

Silver, gold or
Treasures, I want not,
Though days be cold
Or nights very hot
With you by my side
Now and always, my friend,
I will tackle on life
I will be brave to the end.

See how years have gone past,
I am your love heart,
You are my sweetheart.

Evoke – A Love Tale

The more he thought about her,
The more he realised
She was more than a friend to him,
She was his saviour,
She was his angel from God;
The thought of her evoked nothing more
Than sweet wonderful memories
Of a future they will spend together

But first, he has to pop the question…

Kiss Away My Tears

Kiss away my tears,
Waltz off my fears,
Bid farewell to your
Sentimental allergies,

Search my soul,
And find,
The open book,
My emotions;

Hunt for them,
You will know
Who I am,
What I love;
You will find me,

Love Is You And Me

Spin a perfect love story
Spice it with thrills and frills
Add some touching embellishments
Remember to make room
For the realities of life

Make perfect your love plans
In the curves and turns
Of Love’s treasured lines
Remember to connect
With the real human in you

Love exists not in a vacuum
Love lives not in the air
Love glides not in realms of nothingness
Love is you and me
May I be the love I want see in others

Unpaint the Strokes

Unpaint the strokes
Reverse the chime
Unlock the Night
As the Day returns
Broken peace
Broken in pieces
Dear Mother Nature
Recall your sons
A Time machine I seek-
When our red roses bloomed,
I was a girl, with pink parasols,
You were a boy, with mammoth dreams
When we were young, free and sweet
And in love

My Mother’s Gele

My African scarf,
My mother’s “gele,”

Made in various hues,
Red, orange or blue,

Firmly wrapped,
Round and round
Until firm and still,

It’s not a beret,
It’s not for a ballet,

A special scarf it is,
Patterned, indigenous indeed,
Intentionally large and colourful,
Bold, trendy and beautiful,

My culture
My heritage
My Africa

It’s Autumn …

This is Mancheste, UK on one beautiful Autumn afternoon.

Summer has released its hold,
Autumn has the upper hand,
Trees lined up in perfect queue
Like blushing bridesmaids on an aisle,
Autumn leaves everywhere,
In beautiful radiant shades of gold;
At the end of the aisle
A lonely pine tree watches on,
In silent anticipation,
(Apparently, the odd one out!)
“Soon, it will be winter,
My beautiful lights will glow,
And I, will be the center of attention”
It mused with a calm confidence.

18th November, 2006

There abides three things- hope, faith, love; and the greatest of them is love

Two is better than one they say
I never knew how true
Till I met you

Love is sweet to have they say
I never knew how sweet
Till I loved you

Life is wonderful when you have
someone to share it with
I never knew how true
Till I said,
“I will share my life with you”

Poet’s Notes:
I was going through my email this morning, deleting my old mails to have more storage space on my device. I came across this poem I wrote for my husband, then fiancé, on the 18/11/2006. I was truly amazed at my words and I was greatly encouraged. This resonates with my post yesterday- The Pen. I’ve completed forgotten that I wrote a beauty like this.

I know in many years to come, I will look back at my blog and my heart would be filled with great gladness when I read my words, my books and many more things I may have penned down.

Tender Drizzles

Soft tender whispers
Your words
They seep into my heart
I listen
Beautiful, delicious
Like the honeycomb
Sets me at ease
A cosy hug, we share
None willing to untangle
Sweet silence
An eternal cuddle
It seems
Your cheek
Brushes against mine
Caressing faces
Touching noses
Soft strokes
Your hands
Through my hair
A delicate peck
Your lips
On my forehead
I bask in this aura, of love
Feelings, like butterflies
Dancing, fluttering
Inside while we sit
In silence
No words
No actions
Just us and
The ticking clock
Such precious moments
Time, rolling by
Endlessly, it seems
Golden radiance
Heaven’s rays of love
Beaming through
On a summer morning
The day beckons
Slowly, reluctantly
Unwilling, to begin the day
Yet, we rise
But, with joy, a smile
And a mutual, eternal love
For each other
Though apart on sight
Entwined, inseparable
One heart, one soul
We are
