Temptation

1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

📌”There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man…”
Every temptation you face is not new to you. You’re not the first person to undergo it and you won’t be the last. It’s common and normal with other people too, it’s part of life. So don’t ask yourself, “Why me?”. Instead ask, “God, what do You want to teach me from this temptation? How can I turn this around to promote your kingdom”

📌”…but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able…”
On the contrary to what you think, on the contrary to the lies the Devil is feeding your mind, the truth you need to know is that God is faithful and reliable. Through His faithfulness, He will only give you what you can handle. He knows your strength and knows your breaking point, He will only allow that which is commensurate to your strength. Consequently, it therefore means that you can actually handle it. You have the inner resilience, strength and resistance to rise above that temptation and be free to serve. That which you thought would kill you was only allowed for you to see how strong in His divine power you are to overcome.

📌”…but will with the temptation also make a way to escape…”
Through that temptation, there is already a way of escape. You have to open your eyes to see it. It’s not a closed tunnel and you’re not trapped as you think, the situation is not hopeless as the devil wants you to believe. There’s a readymade escape God has reserved through your temptation, ask God and He will show you the way to be free, to overcome and be a victor. Open your eyes and be sensitive, alert and receptive to a Him, you will find it.

📌”…that ye may be able to bear it…”
The whole essence of God’s faithfulness is that you will be able to bear and to overcome temptations. God’s faithfulness is manifested in the death and resurrection of Christ. Christ defeated death and through His death, we can overcome every temptation because the Power that raised Jesus from the death, the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, the King of kings and Lord of lords, lives inside of us. Hence, we are more than conquerors through Him and in Him. Amen!
Shalom!

Hebrews 11:3 Part 2

Hebrews 11:3
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

The things which are seen were made by the things which are not seen. The invisible- the Voice of The Lord, The Word of God made the visible- the earth.

What a man makes he controls so that he can make or “re-make it”. According to the Scriptures, we are the clay and God is the Potter. When we get marred in His hands, He doesn’t cast us off into the trash can, He remoulds us again until we become better persons. He has control over our lifes because He made us and can orchestrate the bearings of our path as He deems fit.

Nevertheless, the Lord has also given us a free will, to make our own choices and to take responsibility for their consequences. Joshua in his Book said to the Israelites, “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve…” (Joshua 24:15) The Lord may show us His path but the choice to follow or refuse is entirely ours.

Moreover, if we agree that through His Word God made our lifes, it’s then correct to say that the Spiritual makes/controls the physical. The spiritual principles of life- the mind, the soul, faith, love, hope, godliness, prayer, God shapes and determines the outcome, the result, the physical. These elders whose names were written on the Great Hall of Faith understood this principle and therefore made it a matter of priority to prevail in the Spiritual.

Jacob wrestled with the angel and prevailed; Jabez prayed his life around; Hannah prayed forth a son; Abraham secured God’s promise, also saved his nephew’s life twice; Isaac prayed open his wife’s womb; Paul received strength for the thorn in his flesh; Silas and Paul praised God; Moses prayed for the Israelites; David discovered the secret of God’s heart; etc etc these men prevailed and their destinies, their physical lifes where changed because they understood one thing- the Spiritual makes and shapes the physical.

This is not the time to cry, complain, blame others of your misfortune or whine. This is the time to stand up, go on your knees and determine under God how your future will turn out. Great leaders of tomorrow and men who changed history were not perfect men, they failed countless times, but they stoop up, believed in themselves and more importantly had faith in God and refused to be put down.

These men of faith decided to “give themselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word”, to praise, to faith, to hope and to love for the visible were not made by the visible but “by the things which do not appear” (the Invisible).

Remain Blessed.

Light vs Darkness

Genesis 1:2-5
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep” – This is exactly what the world is facing right now. Darkness is everywhere; corruption, perverseness, inordinate affection and lust as never known before is the order of the day. Sin and darkness plagues every facet of human existence. Molestations, cruel abuses and breach of trust, dishonesty and lies, wars and WMD unleashed, terrorism and suicide bombings on every soil. Humanity is on the brink of anarchy.

“And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”– Amidst all these, God is still there. His seemingly silence does not mean acceptance but rather “patience not willing that any should perish but that all should coume to repentance.” The Spirit of God is watching, to see what believers will do. Watching to see who will go on their knees and intercede for the nations till revival comes.

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light”.- God dispelled the darkness by speaking forth. His Word was the answer and is the answer to the darkness we face today. His Word, His Son (John 1:1-2). Jesus is the answer for the world, the only Way that darkness and flee from our lives and all that pertains to us. He is the Light of this world. The only way, the only solution to all these headaches and heartaches we face is Jesus. When we invite and allow Him to take lead us day by day through His word, then darkness surely will flee.

“And God saw the light, that it was good:” -God saw the Light was good. Light is always good. Jesus is the true epitome of Light for He is light and in Him dwells no darkness at all. Hence he will surely be good. He only does and makes things good. No matter how the world in its perverseness tries to portray Him, He is still good. That is His nature, and when we follow in His footsteps, goodness flows through us like a river. If all the world follows Him, darkness and evil will disappear for good will surely triumph.

“And God divided the light from the darkness” – God divided the two because there’s no friendship, no connection, no relationship between light and darkness, between God and Satan. You either have one or the other. Both cannot exist in your life. You cannot serve both God the Light and Satan the father of darkness. At each point, one is always your Master. Trying to have both is to deceive ourselves. So let us as children of the Light live according to our profession.

“And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night– Note the capital letters. These are not just times of the day, they are personalities one must not trivial with. Jesus is the Light, the Day and Satan is the Darkness, the Night. We must reckon with this and be careful how we live our lifes, be careful who we obey and heed to. We are either servants to the Light or slaves to the Darkness, the choice is ours.

Who rules your life, who you obey is who your master is. May we be in word, in truth and in deed children of the Light; for the world will become a better place when all mankind submit their lifes and their hearts to the Light, to Christ.

Darkness

Hebrews 11:3

Hebrews 11:3
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

The worlds were framed and called into being by the Word of God and we understand this by faith. But do we really understand this? Or are we still asking questions, looking for signs? Pro-evolution theorists have not understood this; thus have postulated their own theories thereby gathering many followers unfortunately. Their understanding have been “darkened,” because they have “alienated (themselves) from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart“. (Ephesians 4:18)

For us who are Christians, do we understand this by the Faith living in us? If we do, why do some of us still live and walk “as Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their minds” thereby making a “shipwreck” of our faith? (Ephesians 4:17). Why do some us still entertain the vile thoughts/actions of malice, adultery, envying, wrath, hatred, etc of which anyone who partakes in these have no part in God’s Kingdom. (Galatians 5:19-21)

The worlds– your world, my world, this world, all the earth was formed by the Word of God. Bringing it home- our natural, physical world- our families, our lifes from conception to birth, our works, our finances, health, spouses, children, etc everything that makes up our world was framed, created and formed by the Word of God because EVERYTHING about our lifes is written in the “volume of THE BOOK”.

Psalms 139:16
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

In this Word of God, we find everything we need for life and godliness. This means that everything we need to live, to excel, to succeed and to make progress in our faith, in our walk, and in our lives as we live in the world, is in THE Book- the Word of God.

Food for thought:
He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got your back; your past, your present and your future. He already knows what you are going through; He is and has the answer to all your needs. He has good thoughts for you, to give you a hope and a bright future. So let go and let God.

Hebrews 11:2

Hebrews 11:2
“For by it the elders obtained a good report.”

Elders received a good report by faith. These elders in the Lord were men and women whom God deemed it fit to reckon as elders. It was God that gave them this title not men. The All-knowing God has searched and tried their hearts, He has seen everything about their life both, about of their hearts and their relationship with other men. Hence, He was very pleased with them and as such reckoned them worthy to called elders.

Also, these elders received a good report first from God and and probably later from men, not vice versa. It’s sad that in these latter days, many are striving to receive good report from men, many have now become men pleasers rather than God pleasers.
On the contrary, Jesus sought God’s approval first, no wonder God acknowledged Him on the Mountain of Transfiguration. “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” (Matthew 17:5) Drawing an inference from this verse, we shouldn’t underestimate what God can achieve with a man that seeks to please Him. He will cause men to hear you, to listen to your life, to observe and follow him.

How did these elders that received a good report from God? It was faith gave them a good report. Faith in Jesus, faith to follow Him and believe in all the prophecies of God in the Holy Writ concerning Jesus. They obeyed God’s Word and valued it more than their necessary food. They followed God’s Pattern for life and godliness not realising that every pattern of life and every instruction given by God during their time was symbolic to the Person and Personality of Jesus. No wonder they obtained a good report before God.

Food for thought:
These elders of faith have all died, but we that are still living are currently holding the torch of faith. What legacy are we leaving for the next generation when we hand over the torch to them? Will the records of our life show men that had faith? Will we be qualified for God to call us elders?

Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen.”

Substance means – the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence; the most important or essential part of something; the real or essential meaning (Oxford dictionary)

The most important? The essential part? Who else in heaven or on earth can such meaning fit so perfectly?  Who is the essential and important part of our faith? The real meaning and the Solid proof our faith?

There’s none other except our Lord Jesus Christ. The fullness of God dwells in Him bodily which includes the fullness of our faith. He is the Substance, the Evidence, the Tangibility, the Reality of  our hope in God, the Author and the Finisher of everything we pray and desire from God. The Proof that God answers prayers, the core undeniable evidence that with God all things are possible. For how can we explain the miracle of the virgin birth? Or fathom a logical reason for how God came and dwelt with man? Or even explain the empty grave and resurrection? The evidence of these truths is found in Him alone.
Jesus- the absolute evidence of God’s existence to man.

Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
