The Wondrous Pages of an Open Book

Oh the wondrous pages of an open book
Immersed in its thrills, my safe haven
I’m one with the author, eliciting emotions
I sob, I chuckle; I’m sad, I’m tensed

Books are not merely books
They are worlds within worlds
Where humans fly and flowers sing
Where birds float and babies swim

Where everything and anything is possible to the author
As he connects with his readers with every syllable
Where the imagination, creativity and passion come alive

Daily Prompt: Chuckle

Writer At Heart

I am a writer at heart.

I dream words. I love words. I write words.

Inspired by life. Inspired by books. Inspired by people.

My head initiates. My heart connects. My hand executes.

I write to communicate. I write to motivate. I write to inculcate.

My words- my tools. My ink- my medium. The audience- my critics.

I am a writer at heart.

Love Conquers

Listen,
I don’t want to judge you
I don’t want to criticize you

I know,
You have your reasons
You have to tell me one day

After all,
You don’t judge a book by its cover
You don’t judge a story by the author

So now,
For my sake I will still love you
For love conquers all

Daily Prompt: Criticize, Conquer

Awaken The Author in You

Having a book
Or many books
With your name on it,
On a shelf,
In a faraway land,
Or the house next door
In someone’s home,
Or on a school library,
Or in a Sunday school,
Read by some
Critiqued by others
Mentioned by many
Making a difference
In someone’s life
It’s surely worth doing well
It’s surely worth the wait

Overcome your inertia
Grab your pen
Enclosed in a corner
With your writing pad
Let the words flow
Days into months
And months into years
The end is nearer
With each chapter
Your world is waiting
Your peers are watching
Look into the future
Your books are there
Give it your best shot
To make a difference
In someone’s life
It’s surely worth doing well
It’s surely worth the wait

The Writer and His Thoughts

As much as you love writing like do, as much as you love playing with words like I do, there comes a time when you experience a dearth in imagination. Your mind goes blank and your creativity goes dead; you pick your pen or notepad but just stare in silence. Nothing seems to form coherency in your mind. It’s as if you are lost in the desert, wondering aimlessly without purpose. Or like an empty canoe on a vast sea water drifting here and there with the tides. You just can’t find the words to properly express yourself and your thoughts.

It’s easier to go to work and do this or that, drive there or meet with people. But for the writer, his work is in his mind. Unless it’s penned down, no work is done. Not only that, there’s the editing and readability factor. Writing is an art that relies heavily on the creativities and expressions of the mind. The state of the mind dictates the words on the paper. Some writers just pen down whatever comes to their mind which sometimes may not make sense. Others, think and analyse every word and structure till it makes perfect sense which could be another extreme. Different styles, different strokes, different schemes just like painting.

Anyway, in all honesty I ask- how do you get yourself into that “writing zone” when you can’t seem to find it?

Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen.”

Substance means – the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence; the most important or essential part of something; the real or essential meaning (Oxford dictionary)

The most important? The essential part? Who else in heaven or on earth can such meaning fit so perfectly?  Who is the essential and important part of our faith? The real meaning and the Solid proof our faith?

There’s none other except our Lord Jesus Christ. The fullness of God dwells in Him bodily which includes the fullness of our faith. He is the Substance, the Evidence, the Tangibility, the Reality of  our hope in God, the Author and the Finisher of everything we pray and desire from God. The Proof that God answers prayers, the core undeniable evidence that with God all things are possible. For how can we explain the miracle of the virgin birth? Or fathom a logical reason for how God came and dwelt with man? Or even explain the empty grave and resurrection? The evidence of these truths is found in Him alone.
Jesus- the absolute evidence of God’s existence to man.

Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
