His Great Name

Demons scamper and hide,
Principalities quiver and shake,
Our lips hum new melodies,
Our hearts revive and reignite,
At the mention of His great name,
My Refuge, my Rock, my Help
My Saviour, my Hiding Place,
Jesus.

Daily Prompt: Scamper

All Paid For

To see the Jesus reign and rule in the hearts of men all over the world.

Father and Son
Dwelling
In perfect harmony
Until that evening
When the Son
Bore on Him
The sins of whole world
On a hill faraway
His loving Father
Cringed
And turned away
From His beloved Son

Even today
Our loving Father
Cringes away,
When we
Indulge in sin
Hear him call,
“Come to Me child,
My Beloved Son
Has paid the price
For your sins”

Daily Prompt: Cringe

Let Your Light Shine

Like a plain crisp paper
Carrying graceful words of God
Let my life be a medium of God’s:

Light to those in darkness
Joy to the bereaved
Wisdom to the simpleminded
Warning to the rebellious
Grace to the saints
Faith to the doubtful
Liberty to those in bondage

Most importantly, Oh Lord,
Let my life be:
A medium for the gospel of Jesus
To the unbelieving world
A medium of God’s love letter
To the lost sinner

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”- Matthew 5:16

Triumph Over Me, Lord

I give my mind to You
Transform me within
I give my soul to You
Save me from myself
I give my heart to You
Come let Your will reign
I give my life to You
Take over the reins

Overpower my will
Let Your will prevail
Overshadow my thoughts
Let Your Spirit invade

Oh! Triumph over me Lord
Oh! Triumph over me Lord

Daily Prompt: Triumph

Not A Portion, Take All

Not some part of my day
Be in all of it
Not a speck of my time
Take all of it
Not a portion of my heart
Occupy all of it
Not a little of my life
Lord, live through all of it
All the time, everywhere
All the way, anywhere

Daily Prompt: Portion

The Garden, The Cross, The Throne

Alone, in the dark, for the task He grieved
All night my Lord prayed seeking a relieve
The weight of the cross a burden He bore
He groaned in pain, His knee on the floor

Denied by Peter, who wept with remorse
Betrayed by Judas- a greedy reward
Scorned by soldiers, forsaken by His Father
For sinners’ reprieve, a Lamb for slaughter

Dead and buried, He laid in the tomb
Enemies of God rejoiced in His doom
Conquering the grave, He rose from the dead
Everlasting King, on His throne He rests

Daily Prompt: Reprieve

Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen.”

Substance means – the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence; the most important or essential part of something; the real or essential meaning (Oxford dictionary)

The most important? The essential part? Who else in heaven or on earth can such meaning fit so perfectly?  Who is the essential and important part of our faith? The real meaning and the Solid proof our faith?

There’s none other except our Lord Jesus Christ. The fullness of God dwells in Him bodily which includes the fullness of our faith. He is the Substance, the Evidence, the Tangibility, the Reality of  our hope in God, the Author and the Finisher of everything we pray and desire from God. The Proof that God answers prayers, the core undeniable evidence that with God all things are possible. For how can we explain the miracle of the virgin birth? Or fathom a logical reason for how God came and dwelt with man? Or even explain the empty grave and resurrection? The evidence of these truths is found in Him alone.
Jesus- the absolute evidence of God’s existence to man.

Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Light Has Come!

image

Deep in the tunnels of rage
Bound in the chains of hate
Darkness surrounding like a gate
Hear the voice of the Holy One-
Light has come!

Drowning in the oceans of sin
Buried in its seabed within
Lust enslaving like a gin
Hear the voice of the Holy One-
Light has come!

Crouching in the corners of guilt
Ashamed with the depth of your filth
Hiding in the covers of your quilt
Hear the voice of the Holy One-
Light has come!

Wallowing in wounds of the past
Vowing to avenge with a blast
Pining with emotions of downcast
Hear the voice of the Holy One-
Light has come!

May the Light of the gospel shine into our hearts and draw us nearer to the Lord, Amen.

Music and Me

Other than writing, another hobby I enjoy so much is music. I love singing. Anywhere I am there has to be music. In my car, at home, on my phone, at work when alone. Countless karaoke sessions in the house and in my car has become one of my daily routines with my children as my audience. And if I love the song, I’ll have to google the lyrics and later watch the video on YouTube.

My sources of music includes my two favourite stations- Star 88.3 and Premier Praise on the Tunein Radio App; my countless CDs and most importantly my iTunes music library which currently contains 313 gospel songs and more yet to be downloaded on iTunes.

Top of the list on my favourite artists include TobyMac, Mandisa, Deitrick Haddon, Third Day, Don Moen, Jesus Culture, Casting Crowns, Sinach, Brandon Heath, Cece Winans, Keith Lancaster, Matt Maher, Matthew West, Mercy Me, Newsboys, Steve Green, Audio Adrenaline and a whole lot of others. Most of these I knew them through Star 88.3 christian radio station and I’ve been tremendously blessed and broken, uplifted and encouraged, healed and restored by their singing.

My love for music is also evident in my love for musicals. Some of the musicals I enjoyed watching include Little Shop of Horror, Singing in the Rain, Glee, Sister Act, Mama Mia, Les Misèrables, The King and I, Hair Spray, Grease, Lion King, Mary Poppins and so on. My all time favourite of all that I could watch non-stop and never get bored is Sound of Music. I’m in love with this film. It’s a timeless classic.

Why do I love to sing? Why do I love music?
I find music very enriching and inspirational when I’m down. It gives me that quiet place of solace and solitude where I completely bear the stirrings of my heart to God. Sometimes when I can’t find the right words to express myself, music complements that need. And of course, when I’m happy I express it well through singing and a bit of dancing. Music reconnects and unifies my heart with God, joy and peace flooding my heart like a river as I bask in His awesome Presence. And countless times, I’ve received God’s clear leading and direction through music. Music liberates and frees the soul to realms and heights yet unknown like an eager soaring higher and higher into the third heavens. Music is like a necessary food that intoxicates my soul.

I’ll end this with a song by Third Day, an amazing song about the love of God that is very dear to me. It’s titled Love Song. You can listen to it on YouTube here, I do hope it blesses your heart as it did to mine.

I’ve heard it said that a man would climb a mountain
Just to be with the one he loves
How many times has he broken that promise
It has never been done.
I’ve never climbed the highest mountain
But I walked the hill of calvary

Chorus:
Just to be with you, I’d do anything
There’s no price I would not pay
Just to be with you, I’d give anything
I would give my life away.

I’ve heard it said that a man would swim the ocean
Just to be with the one he loves
How many times has he broken that promise
It can never be done
I’ve never swam the deepest ocean
But I walked upon the raging sea

Chorus:
Just to be with you, I’d do anything
There’s no price I would not pay
Just to be with you, I’d give anything
I would give my life away.

Bridge:
I know that you don’t understand the fullness of My love
How I died upon the cross for your sins
And I know that you don’t realise how much that I gave you
But I promise, I would do it all again.

Just to be with you, I’ve done everything
There’s no price I did not pay
Just to be with you, I gave everything
Yes, I gave my life away
Yes, I gave my life away
