Faith or Fear

They didn’t cry
Neither did they fret
They didn’t blame each other
They supported each other
Doubt and fear lurked at every corner
The dark cell magnified their situation
Death was just hours away;
Their backs against the wall
Their faith was tested to the very limit
Paul and Silas were helpless in themselves
Yet they trusted in the Lord
As their faith stood strong,
Hymns and prayers was all they had
And that was all they gave to Him

Suddenly, the prison doors flew open
Every chain fell to the ground
And God gave them victory!

In this dark hour
When all hope and help seems lost
And your faith is extremely tried
What do you have to give
To the Breaker of Chains?
What will you do?
What will you give in to?
Faith or fear?

(See Acts 16:25-34)

Stand Up & Fight

A life worth living
Is a life worth fighting for
Don’t be afraid you will lose the fight
Don’t be afraid of the fight
Don’t be afraid of failing
But
Be terrified of never trying
Be terrified of the regrets of
“What would have happened if I tried?”

Martin Luther King Jnr fought
Martin Luther the Reformist fought
Mose fought
David fought
Peter fought
The early Church fought
Jesus Christ died fighting

They all fought, some died fighting and some didn’t. But they fought for what they believed in and they all won even though some of them were not around to see the results of their fight.

Don’t be afraid to fight!

Don’t run away from the fight because others did.
Don’t back down because others failed.
Your storyline is different and your end would likely be different. But how would you know what the end holds if you back down now and quit.

So fight!
Fight for your dreams, for your health,
Fight for your family, for your children.
Fight for your career, for your future.
Fight for your life!
Don’t give in to fear.

My story
I have been afraid to fail again because I failed twice.
I have been afraid to try because of my past mistakes.
My fear crippled me and held me bound.
Then I asked myself, how many times did Thomas Edison failed?
I will fight! I will not be afraid to fail.
I’m breaking out from this bondage of fear.
I will stand my ground!
I will stand up!
I will stand firm!
And fight for what I believe, what I am passionate about because I believe it’s worth fighting for! And I know who I am!

“I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a Child of God” (Jonathan & Melissa Helser)

Fight Like a Rebel

IMG_2307

We don’t always go looking for a fight
But when they come
We take up our boxing gloves
We fight our fears like rebels
We refuse its intimidations
We stamp our authority vehemently
To reclaim our future, our dreams
To reclaim ourselves

It’s Time To Dream…

Let us,
Cast away that comfort blanket
Cast away our fears
Cast away the inundating inertia
Cast away the pain

Let us,
Step into our God given purpose
Step into our destinies
Step into our dreams and aspirations
Take a step of faith

Let us,
Embrace our inner selves
Embrace our uniqueness
Embrace our strengths
Embrace our inner zings

For,
It is time to Dream, to Desire and to Achieve.

Why,
Every idea, every project, every dream can be achieved.

There Is A Place…

There is a place away from the glaring eyes
There is a depth deeper than the earth’s core
There is a recess deep in the shadows of the mind
There you will discover who you are
There you will conquer your fears
There you will find yourself
And then… you won’t be defined by another human

Footsteps in the Dark

image

The trees stood dead still and the dry yellow leaves rustled under her feet as she made her way through the path. The mourning of the wind haunted her as the evening sun bid farewell to the sky. Her heart pounded louder than the drums of a Zumba beat. The stillness and quietness of this path sent chillness to her bones. She increased her steps to move faster when…

Suddenly, she heard footsteps some distance behind her. She stopped and listened but heard nothing. It must be her fears toying with her imagination. She carried on and there again, she heard the same steps. Her hairs froze with fright. “Who’s there?”, she called out with a quavering voice but the only response she got was the howlings of the wind.

Adrenaline pumping through her veins, she sped off running as fast as her legs could carry her. She almost was certain she was been chased after as the rustles of the leaves behind her increased as well. Tears streamed down her face and dreadful thoughts coursed through her thoughts. All she could mutter underneath her breath was, “Please don’t hurt me! Please don’t hurt me”… (To be continued).
