Focus On Your Own Journey (2)

Another car drove past me.
I followed it on a steady pace.
It took the same route I would have taken,
We seemed to be going in the same direction,
After 7 minutes, the car took a left turn,
I followed it and went left too.
I had to stop.
That was not my own route.
Then a voice said to me,

“Follow other cars when you can. Learn how they tackle bumps. But have the courage to stop and say ‘No’ when their journey deviates from yours.
Focus on your own journey”

I reversed and continued on my journey.

(To be continued)

Bumps and traffic lights come and go
But the car that keeps driving
Always gets to its destination

F- Focus

Focus on what you want to do. Don’t be distracted by what others are doing. Stay firm and focused on the plans you have drawn upend yet anticipate change. Changes, challenges, setbacks, etc. may try to derail you, deal with them and return to your main route. Or better still carve out a road through them and redirect your steps back to your main goal. The volume of work and ideas rummaging through your brain may try to disorient you, just take a step back, right down your thoughts and remain focused.
Make up your mind, don’t be like the yoyo, focus on your journey. This is a mind game, a battle of the mind which must be won many times over. A focused attitude leads to new ways, ideas and innovations in achieving your aspirations.

“And it came about, when the days were approaching for His ascension, that He resolutely set His face to go to Jerusalem”- Luke 9:51

Keep on going, be Focus, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I have never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down.” –Charles F. Kettering

If you want to make a permanent change, stop focusing on the size of your problems and start focusing on the size of you!” –T. Harv Eker

Be God’s Original

img_1291

Not a copycat but the original
Not a fake beans but the real jeans
Not an imitator but an originator
That’s who God made you to be

You are unique,
You are different,
There’s only one you in the whole wide world.

Only you with that specific smile,
Only you with that peculiar face.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Some may bear the same name as you,
Another may be your twin,
Some may dress the same like you
Another may even talk like you
But, they are not you

Learn from others but add your zing to it.
Learn from them but modify yours with your own specialty
Put your own label on it.
And own your copyright
Be not inefficient

God did not copy and paste you,
He moulded and fashioned you
With a top secret, personalised, use-only-once specifications.
You are God’s original, not a copycat.

Don’t downgrade yourself,
Be God’s original and not a copycat

A Sky for You

Sometimes when I come to work, one of the clients will tell me” I want a sky for you, a sky for you” and I’ll reply with a smile, “Thank you”. I came to work today, and he said it again, I smiled and thanked him as usual, and then, my thoughts went crazy hence this write-up.

I would want to own the sky, I mean if I do, that means I would have air rights all over the world. And so you know what that means? Every airplane, every aircraft, jetliner, helicopter, etc. would have to pay “air toll fees” to me to have access to the sky, WOW! I’ll be the richest person on earth and wouldn’t have to work again! Hahaha! Dream on dreamer, you’d say.

Anyway, my point is we may not have the sky we want, we may not have the fairytale life we planned for, we may not live in a castle like Downtown Abbey with lots of lady’s maids, butlers and footmen scurrying about like busy bees…

But we have life, we have air to breath, jobs to go to, families to laugh and fight with, friends to dance with, food to eat, beds to lay our weary heads, hands to write with, gadgets to connect with long lost friends and families, …

Rather than focus on the skies I don’t have, I’d rather focus on the floor I’m standing on. Take a minute, look around you and count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what you actually have and should be thankful to God for.
