A Christmas Baby

7B4F0E5A-29BB-4AC4-92DD-9AD85181799E

A Father’s love,
A Saviour’s birth
Heaven’s loss
Earth’s gain

Mangers and Magi
Angels and Shepherds
Heaven’s joy
Earth’s wonder

A baby cries
A mother cuddles
God’s first Son
Mary’s first Christmas

I Found Him Too

B6334588-237D-4F92-B343-0B4F73E8CA52

Now I belong to Jesus
Jesus belongs to me
Not for the years of time alone
But for eternity”
(Hymn by Norman J. Clayton)

I found Him too
At banks of the River
Where springs of Hope
Bubbled in delight

I found Him too
In the Dawn of the day
When I knelt in contrite
Near my bedside lamp

I found Him too
With unspeakable joy
Where cords of Love
Bound my heart to His

I found my Saviour
That is,
After He found me first

Precious Is He

IMG_2618

Unto you that believes
He is precious
(1 Peter 2:7)

Oh the day I called His name
Sin and self, my only game
Until He took me by the hand
Rescued me from unholy bands
Redemption! His gift to me
Liberated! His love to be
My Precious, My Saviour, He lives
Evermore, in Him I believe

Oh To Be Like Him

Oh to be like Him
In thoughts and deed
To emulate Him
And consistently seek
To love like Him
As I live each day
To lean on Him
Trusting all the way

Oh to be like You
Saviour and Friend
To listen for You
Through every bend
To always follow You
No matter what may
To learn from You
A loyal apprentice all day

Daily Prompt: Apprentice

If Only I Rule The World

Unemployment on a massive scale
Joblessness leading to social vices
Leaders preying on the led
Masses looting with impunity
Suicide pacts becoming the norm
Injustice, avarice and depraved perversions
Children abused and neglected
Politicians fibbing to claim and retain positions
The electorate desperate for a saviour
The rich are getting richer,
The poor are getting poorer
Multitudes, multitudes, living in depression

If only I am God, if only I rule the world
I will rearrange the world for sure
And swiftly reward men accordingly
But, sadly or gladly so, I’m not.

Daily Prompt: Rearrange

Darkness

Darkness creeps in like a thief
Subtle, sneaky like a snake
Luring gullible minds away from the light
Blinded and lost in a deep dark world
They grope about like three blind mice

But lo, the cry of a Saviour they hear
Embrace His light to free your minds
His light shines clear for you to thrive
Your sight he restores in a flick of a wave
Bid farewell to darkness and welcome The Light
