All Circles…

They are all circles but different colours.
They are all round but differ in hues.
We are all humans but with different faces.
We are all living beings but differ in strengths, abilities, peculiarities and uniqueness.
The world would be a better place when we focus our energies to utilise the best of abilities for the good of mankind.

Remember…

Strolling down a path in the park
I am reminded of how winding life can be
Yellow beams from the setting sun
I am reminded of the brevity of time
Watching a mother cuddle her child
I am reminded of the great gracious love of God
Watching the children play hide and seek
I am reminded of how carefree my mind should be
Staring into the dark quiet sky with speckles of stars
I am reminded of how peaceful the world should be

Daily Prompt: Yellow

Be God’s Original

Not a copycat but the original
Not a fake beans but the real jeans
Not an imitator but an originator
That’s who God made you to be

You are unique,
You are different,
There’s only one you in the whole wide world.

Only you with that specific smile,
Only you with that peculiar face.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Some may bear the same name as you,
Another may be your twin,
Some may dress the same like you
Another may even talk like you
But, they are not you

Learn from others but add your zing to it.
Learn from them but modify yours with your own specialty
Put your own label on it.
And own your copyright

God did not copy and paste you,
He moulded and fashioned you
With a top secret, personalised, use-only-once specifications.
You are God’s original, not a copycat.

Don’t downgrade yourself,
Be God’s original and not a copycat

Daily Prompt: Copycat

If Only I Rule The World

Unemployment on a massive scale
Joblessness leading to social vices
Leaders preying on the led
Masses looting with impunity
Suicide pacts becoming the norm
Injustice, avarice and depraved perversions
Children abused and neglected
Politicians fibbing to claim and retain positions
The electorate desperate for a saviour
The rich are getting richer,
The poor are getting poorer
Multitudes, multitudes, living in depression

If only I am God, if only I rule the world
I will rearrange the world for sure
And swiftly reward men accordingly
But, sadly or gladly so, I’m not.

Banned, To Be Free

Banned from betrayal, free in fidelity
Banned from bitterness, free to forgive
Banned from destruction, free to help
Banned from hatred, free to love
Banned from hoarding, free to give
Banned from lies, free to speak
Banned from murder, free to live
Banned from racism, free to embrace
Banned from rebellion, free to obey
Banned from ungodliness, free in Christ

This is the world we ought to live in,
This is the world we can live in,
If we make effort,
Starting from ourselves

Water!

Water!
Chilling
Cleansing
Refreshing
Rejuvenating
Drips and drops
Flows and floods
Tons of you topples a city
Lack of you starves a nation
Dolphins spout and play in you
Camels seek and search for you
Sailors bask in your vast providence
Farmers depend on your bountiful showers
Surf it! Freeze it! Sprinkle it! Boil it! Drink it! Spit it!
You comfortably occupy about seventy percent of our world
For our world, our lives, our very essence cannot do without you
Water!

Daily Prompt: Water

Hebrews 11:3

Hebrews 11:3
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

The worlds were framed and called into being by the Word of God and we understand this by faith. But do we really understand this? Or are we still asking questions, looking for signs? Pro-evolution theorists have not understood this; thus have postulated their own theories thereby gathering many followers unfortunately. Their understanding have been “darkened,” because they have “alienated (themselves) from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart“. (Ephesians 4:18)

For us who are Christians, do we understand this by the Faith living in us? If we do, why do some of us still live and walk “as Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their minds” thereby making a “shipwreck” of our faith? (Ephesians 4:17). Why do some us still entertain the vile thoughts/actions of malice, adultery, envying, wrath, hatred, etc of which anyone who partakes in these have no part in God’s Kingdom. (Galatians 5:19-21)

The worlds– your world, my world, this world, all the earth was formed by the Word of God. Bringing it home- our natural, physical world- our families, our lifes from conception to birth, our works, our finances, health, spouses, children, etc everything that makes up our world was framed, created and formed by the Word of God because EVERYTHING about our lifes is written in the “volume of THE BOOK”.

Psalms 139:16
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

In this Word of God, we find everything we need for life and godliness. This means that everything we need to live, to excel, to succeed and to make progress in our faith, in our walk, and in our lives as we live in the world, is in THE Book- the Word of God.

Food for thought:
He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got your back; your past, your present and your future. He already knows what you are going through; He is and has the answer to all your needs. He has good thoughts for you, to give you a hope and a bright future. So let go and let God.

When the Wind Beckons

I hear its voice calling
The voice of the wind calling

“Come away with me, child
Soar with me thy gentle guide
Let my breeze caress thy soft smooth skin
Away you would fly with a dancing spin
Let the echoes of my song fill thee with sheer delight
As you glide and skim on the wings of the wind tonight
Up above, away and beyond in distant spheres unknown
With eerie tales of giant and aliens, galaxies and clones
Come child, ride on the clouds- thy fluffy gallant steeds
They stand still, awaiting thy command O royal seed”

And off I ran into the arms of the wind not thinking twice
Lest its voice fades faster than the throw of a dice
Come along dear friend, respond to the wondrous clarion calls
When the wind beckons! When freedom calls!

Mr. Grain the Teacher

cereals and grains

Grains. They teach us two valuable lessons about life.

1. The Power of Unity– one grain of sand or one grain of mustard seed cannot survive on its own, it will be lost forever, completely overwhelmed and overshadowed by the elements of space. But in unity with its brothers, it becomes a powerful tool in the hands of humans or even Mother Nature. Adding some salt to our foods makes our meals appealing and appetising to the palettes; also, who can imagine a beautiful wedding  cake without sugar. On the other hand, excess amounts of salt has been linked to heart diseases.
My Point: we can achieve great things when we work with one mind, one purpose and one vision, when we are united with one another. This reiterates the concept we see in the story of the people of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). If God didn’t  intervene, that project would have ranked as one of man’s best creation that changed the course of history. When we forget our differences, our personal opinions and dispositions, our overestimated egos; when we forgive others of their faults, weaknesses and idiosyncrasies knowing we are also prone to same, the sky would be no more the limit but the starting point to what we can imagine, create and achieve together.

2. Our Need For Each Other– a single grain is absolutely inconsequential and extremely infinitesimal but a sea of sand on the beach becomes a summer tan bed. A grain of rice will hardly pass for dinner neither will a grain of coffee make a soothing hot drink on a cold winter night.
My Point: we need support from one another to function and survive. We need the support of each other to fulfil our destiny, purpose and to live a fulfilled life. We are inter-linked with each other and most times we are at our best when we come together. How true the statement, “It’s a small closely-knitted world”.

Take the home for instance- you have the parents, the children, the landlords, the electricians, the builders, the GPs, the repair/handyman, the grocery store, the energy providers, the church, the water providers, the internet providers, furniture shop, the clothes shop, etc etc. All these need each other to survive. Think of the school system, the hospital system, the government, and so on, we all need each other. We cannot survive alone, no matter how we try to function alone; hence, the sooner we realise we need each other, the better for us, for our communities, for our society and for our world.

Oh grainy grainswhat great teachers you lot are, if only we can listen and learn.

God- My Constant

Through the changing phases of my world and the different stages of life,
Through the motions of the day and the slumberings of the night,
Through the fearful forests of the unknown and the steeply stairs of the known,
Through the innocent tantrums of childhood and the rebellious times of teenagehood,
Through the lone days of spinsterhood and the busy times of parenthood,
Through the moments of painful lacks and the seasons of joyful feasts,
Through the unpredictability of life’s course and the certainty of death’s alley
Amidst the hurts, joys, heartbreaks, blessings, challenges, setbacks, disappointments, promotions, etc. etc.
I find One who is always constant, always reliable, ever faithful, ever loving, unchanging, unfailingly, no sleeping nor slumbering, all-sufficient, all-powerful, our ever present help in time of need, He never leaves us nor forsakes us,
He is the Lord our God and we can trust Him.
He is my Constant in an ever variable world.
