W – Write Down Your Mantra

Write down your motto, mantra, slogan or declaration. It could be a board of motivational quotes and clips, book of motivational stories and words/verses of faith that help you believe. It could be a faith corner. Words, audiovisuals, picture collage of words, etc. It’s got to be something written down that you can read everyday to yourself. There is power in spoken words, but you’ve got to have the right words to speak. You may say, I will remember. I guarantee that you will not. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Let your mantra be the daily milk you drink every day, the constant fuel that ignites your fire and passion. Write it down, say it daily. Keep it handy or clip it by your mirror. You will discover how positive you will be. Writing it down always helps you articulate your thoughts to what’s really important. Check every successful company you know, you will find their motto. For countries you will find an anthem, for faith/religion you will find a creed. Don’t underestimate the power of repetition. What you say everyday will gradually become what you believe. What you do everyday will eventually become who you are.

I’ve discovered by experience that there’s something about spoken words of declaration. I have several of them written in a book and I cannot explain the energy, the positivity and the can-do spirit that fills my heart each day since I started it. It’s so refreshing and invigorating.

Undaunted By Prompts

IMG_2749

Yesterday’s daily word was
Toothbrush!
What an odd word! Unlikely!
But then,
To the writer, every word
Is like a match that strikes up
The lights of imagination and
Innate poetic creativity;
Whether it’s toothbrush,
Blanket, Aimless or Murmuration,
A true scribe at heart
Remains undaunted by the prompts,
He is never short of ideas.

Daily Prompt: Toothbrush

Not Out of Mind

My dear blogger,
My out of sight is not out mind,
Oh no! Far from it!
You occupy my mind daily,
As I wade through issues,
That keep attempting to bury,
My passions, my innate desire for writing-
Mozilla browser refusing to budge,
Work timelines and deadlines,
Personal issues, pensive minds,
Family and church commitments,
Oh dear dear dear me!
Oh, my dear blogger,
How can I forget the joy, the gladness,
That floods my heart when I write,
Nor that thrill, excitement and suspense,
Wondering what our daily Prompt would be;
I will keep fighting! I will keep writing!
I will keep reading, commenting and liking!
For I have just discovered that,
Being here gives me greater pleasure than my daily food.

Daily Prompt: Bury

Message To New Bloggers

Worried about followership? Feeling like you will not get that big audience you so desire? Does it feel like your stats trudges up the hill like a camel?

The best attitude is to ignore the readership and the stats, instead focus on your content and writing skills. Be part of the community by making out time to read other people’s blog. Be consistent, don’t neglect your blog.

Blogging is like having conversations with visitors in your home. Would you ignore your visitors for one week without conversing, chatting and interacting with them? In the same instance, it would be unwise to leave your followers for one to two weeks with no post. Everyone needs some TLC, even more your blog.
When you make a bit of effort, you would be relieved to see your readership grow and your audience range widen as you stay true to your heart and write about what you love.

Patience is a virtue you will learn as a blogger and friendliness is a virtue you must show as a blogger. For every good thing takes time, effort and a very big smile.

The Maze of Thoughts

Sometimes I readily find the right words to use,
Inspirations flow like the gushing waters of Niagara Falls,
Metaphors connect coherently and succinctly,
At such times, the speed of my writing becomes faster than sprinting,
Like a hermit, I withdraw into the cores of my mind,
To produce through the maze of thoughts, readable words for my audience,
I chuckle as I savour the rush of endorphins the moment brings.

Other times, my mind goes numb and frozen like ice packs,
Inspiration for a single line eludes and abandons me like a bride jilted,
I struggle as I drown in the cacophony of nonsensical ken,
At such times, I have discovered;
That the thoughts and words I wrote down earlier becomes my saviour,
I run to them with an open mind embracing their succour,
They fill my mind with creative imagination and originality,
Relieved, I begin to weave many a word for my waiting readers.

Humans With Two Hands

Inconsistency-
The bane of adept writing
Sycophancy-
The ruin of integrous writing
Competition-
The demise of inspiration
Egotism-
The detriment of aspiration
Parochialism-
The death of creativity

With this I say, my inconsistency for the past days was not by choice but was caused by inevitable prevailing circumstances beyond my human hands. Time has become a precious essential commodity that I must keep purchasing. So please pardon my absence if you don’t see my posts regularly. When I find the time, I will definitely continue to write my heart away piece by piece with every dot of ink.

At the end of the day, we are all humans with only two hands and can only be the best of what we are- humans with two hands.

The Blogger Recognition Award

📌First I will start by saying a massive thank you to Thoughts of an Introvert for nominating my blog for The Blogger Recognition Award! Honestly, I’m truly happy and elated that you have enjoyed my tales and ramblings. I am encouraged by your act of kindness and I pray my posts will continue to captivate your interests.
Also, I say a big thank you to everyone who has been following my blogs so far. Thank you for your comments and criticisms, your jokes and arguments, they have indeed elevated and innervated my writing.

📌Please let’s check out the blog posts of Thoughts of an Introvert. This writer is truly a writer at heart; very inspiring and thought provoking posts. Though new on this forum, he displays a rare motivational quality that connects him with his readers. Please don’t deny yourself this great opportunity to be inspired by his posts.

📌The 6 Golden Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 10-15 other bloggers for this award.
6. Comment on each blog to let them know you’ve nominated them and a link to the post you created.

📌 How did this journey start?
I’ve been writing informally since I was a teenager. I had a little book of poems, I wrote a short children’s story, I wrote drama skits for my drama group in church and I researched and wrote about the history of my local church which I read to everyone on our Church’s 10th anniversary. These are just some of them. I kind of stopped for a while though I was writing little snippets and excerpts on social media. Well, last year one of my close friends who must have noticed my flair for writing began to nudge me to write more. He introduced me to WordPress and consistently pestered me despite my unwillingness to go public. I finally agreed and started a WordPress account and… here I am today.

I’m thrilled and I am grateful to God that I took that bold step to write more, especially on this platform because I have noticed a tremendous improvement in my writing skills. I have met wonderful, exceptional and prolific writers who I keep looking up to for inspiration and motivation. More importantly, I have met lots of good people here, who I may never see face to face, but who like me, hope to make a difference in our worlds through writing.

📌My advice for new bloggers:
1. Be yourself– Find out what suits you and follow your heart. Don’t write to get comments, don’t write to get likes, write because that’s what you want to write, write because you love writing. Write as the inspiration comes even though they don’t make sense, then correct it when the flow stops. Write to connect with your reader, to strike a chord in their heart. When the inspiration is not there, don’t force it. Wait for it, it will come.

2. You are part of a community- Spend time to read other people’s post, comment and share your thoughts with fellow writers. Read and be inspired but remain true to your own style of writing.

3. Modify your website to suit your style. Check out other bloggers and learn from their sites. Make friends, be nice, be courteous, don’t judge.

📌I follow a lot of exceptional and talented writers because I have a very exploratory and inquisitive mind. I’d like to recognize and nominate some of them below in no particular order:

Peter Gardner Psalms
Let the Light In
Unbolt Me
Ayoka
Elaine’s Journey of Spiritual Awakening
Art, Poetry and Insight ~ KAM
Joanna Lynn’s blog
Words on Empty Ears
Beauty Beyond Bones
Eddaz
My Art and Me
Insanity At Its Best
Giggles & Tales
Autism In Our Nest
The Road To There
Heavens Sunshine

📌Lastly to everyone, I’m happy I took this step, you all are truly an inspiration and a motivation to me. I have enjoyed your posts because you are all exceptional writers, each one unique in his/her own way. Let us continue doing what we love doing best- Writing.
God bless you all
#Shalom💝
P.S I don’t know whether there is a real award but I think this is just a way to acknowledge and encourage each blogger. It’s like a pat in the back.

THANK YOU ALL!!

img_1638

A 1000 likes!!! A 100 followers!! Wow!! What can I say?

I want to say a massive, size-of-the-universe 🌎 THANK YOU to everyone who has been with me through this journey. Thank you for all your comments, for your likes and for reading my posts. Your interests in my blog has really kept me going, your blogs and great achievements in the literary world have also motivated me immensely. I must confess sometimes I don’t really know what I was writing, I just write the first thoughts from my heart and let my readers be the judge of that. Obviously it seems like I’m doing something right, don’t know what that is though. Still feels  trying to find my feet.

I pray the Lord for more inspiration and creativity to do what I love doing. I still remember the first day I started this blog, I wasn’t sure but I carried on… now I’m here with many more years ahead.. all I can say is-

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU WITH ALL MY HEART.
MUCH LOVE!!!😘😘😘

From one happy bunny!

Awaken The Author in You

Having a book
Or many books
With your name on it,
On a shelf,
In a faraway land,
Or the house next door
In someone’s home,
Or on a school library,
Or in a Sunday school,
Read by some
Critiqued by others
Mentioned by many
Making a difference
In someone’s life
It’s surely worth doing well
It’s surely worth the wait

Overcome your inertia
Grab your pen
Enclosed in a corner
With your writing pad
Let the words flow
Days into months
And months into years
The end is nearer
With each chapter
Your world is waiting
Your peers are watching
Look into the future
Your books are there
Give it your best shot
To make a difference
In someone’s life
It’s surely worth doing well
It’s surely worth the wait
